Finally, Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor fight is now just in the books and circus or farce already leave, boxing fans can now focus on the real deal, the fight between Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin.
Mayweather can now get out of his boxing career by acquiring his 50th win in the professional boxing, by easily defeating Conor McGregor, via 10th-round knockout on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The fight intrigued a lot of people because of an unusual match of the best boxer of his time against the best MMA fighter, McGregor.
But Canelo-GGG is a different story. There’s no exhibition, it is a very serious fight between the world’s elite pound-for-pound boxers, for the unified and lineal middleweight world championship in a match most expect to be a great more competitive than the last fight.
They will fight in T-Mobile Arena where Mayweather made the stoppage on McGregor on September 16. The fight of Canelo-GGG was overshadowed by the MayMac since June. Promoted by Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions and Tom Loeffler of GGG Promotions.
Canelo-GGG is now just a three weeks to rev the promotion into high gear, it began in LA where both Canelo and GGG conducts open workouts with more than 1,000 fans outdoor, where the promoters ripped the May-Mac fight as a sideshow and the boxers talked about the anticipation of their bout.
De La Hoya, who lost to Mayweather in a decision in 2007, said he didn’t watch their fight, relentlessly criticized the time the fight was announced. He remarked, “I just thought it was a fraud, and I still think it’s a fraud.”
MayMac fight turned out to become a great and entertaining bout. Now, both De La Hoya and Loeffler are hoping that those enjoyed that fight Mayweather and McGregor will enjoy the fight of Canelo and GGG this September 16.
